What is RADAR?

RADAR is an innovative pilot project that introduces a new concept in matching the demand for skills in the Canadian labour market (excluding Quebec) with the supply of qualified immigrant labour. Funded by the IRCC, RADAR uses artificial intelligence (AI) to help Francophone newcomer (FN) job seekers find a job that is adapted to their expectations and based on their skills, while offering the possibility of broadening their field of expertise through targeted and adapted training.

Value added for FN

  • Customize your profile to showcase your know-how and interpersonal skills with up to 200 skills listed per account;
  • Compare, on the same platform and in real time, a multitude of job offers and mark those that interest you;
  • Obtain an overview of the skills you need to develop, considering the most requested skills in relation to the position and the job market;
  • Develop a personalized training program with your counsellor.

Value added for Employment Counsellors

By matching, in real time, individual NAF competency profiles with job opportunities in the Canadian labour market, employment and training counsellors will be better equipped to effectively guide the candidate through the entire job search process.

Value added for Employers

  • Recruiting candidates with immigrant backgrounds, based on skills analysis
  • Access to a larger pool of candidates with the right skills for the job;
  • A better quality of match leading to a reduction in the turnover rate;
  • A mix of skills including language and cross-cultural abilities;
  • One more opportunity to “live” your inclusive corporate culture!

The main objectives of the RADAR project

RADAR is a two-year pilot project, from November 2021 to November 2023, with the main objectives in a labour shortage market:

  • To support 600 NAF in creating their profiles on SkyHive’s platform and in building their skills passport.
  • To improve the quality of twinning between stakeholders by optimising efforts to ensure a match between the skills sought by employers and the skills of FNC ready to engage, in a time frame that meets the demands of the current market.
  • To propose to 150 NAF a personalized training course allowing them to develop the missing skills for the job sought.
